The Spencer Suture Scissors features a hook shaped tip on the lower blade that slides beneath the suture loop and lifts the thread away from the tissue surface. Once the suture is raised the cutting blades complete the transection cleanly and with minimal resistance. This two stage action of lifting and then cutting reduces the risk of catching the skin or pulling the wound edges during removal.
The fine sharp blades are suited for smaller and more delicate sutures including fine monofilament threads used on the face and eyelids. The compact blade length gives the clinician precise control over each cut which is valuable when working in confined or hard to reach areas.
A Supercut variant is also available which features a sharp upper blade and a micro serrated lower blade. The serrated surface holds the suture thread firmly before the cut is completed which prevents slippage and ensures a clean transection every time. The instrument is available in multiple lengths to suit both fine suture work and heavier suture removal across different wound sites.
The ergonomic ring handles provide a secure grip during repeated suture removal sessions. The lightweight and compact body reduces hand strain and allows easy maneuvering in areas with limited visibility.
Manufactured from premium grade surgical stainless steel with a satin finish. Fully autoclave compatible for repeated sterilization and long term clinical use.
