The Metzenbaum Dissecting Scissors features blunt rounded tips that can be introduced into a tissue plane and opened gently to create space before any cutting takes place. This allows the surgeon to clearly identify the structure being dissected before committing to the cut.
The slender blades deliver a clean and controlled cut through soft tissue including peritoneum, organ sheaths and fine connective tissue. The narrow blade profile minimizes contact with tissue that does not need to be disturbed which reduces trauma to surrounding structures.
The instrument is available in straight and curved blade configurations as well as multiple lengths ranging from 5.5 inches to 11 inches. Multiple tip configurations are available including blunt to blunt, sharp to blunt and sharp to sharp to suit different dissection techniques. A Tungsten Carbide variant is also available for extended edge retention and longer service life. Tungsten Carbide models are identified by gold colored ring handles for easy identification on the surgical tray.
The ergonomic ring handles provide comfortable and responsive control throughout intricate dissection procedures. The lightweight construction reduces hand fatigue during extended surgical sessions.
Manufactured from premium grade surgical stainless steel with a satin finish. Fully autoclave compatible for repeated sterilization and long term clinical use.
