The Ragnell Dissecting Scissors features blunt rounded tips that are introduced gently into a tissue plane and opened to create a safe dissection space before cutting begins. This staged approach is particularly valuable in plastic surgery where maintaining the integrity of surrounding tissue is critical to the surgical outcome.
The slender blade profile and short blade to shank ratio give the surgeon enhanced control and precision at the cutting point. This design is especially effective when working within confined surgical fields or performing undermining procedures during skin grafting and facial reconstruction.
The instrument is available in straight and curved configurations as well as multiple lengths to accommodate both superficial and deeper dissection requirements. A Supercut variant is also available which incorporates a razor sharp upper blade for superior cutting performance on tougher tissue. A Tungsten Carbide variant is also available for extended edge retention and longer service life across repeated sterilization cycles. Tungsten Carbide models are identified by gold colored ring handles for easy identification on the surgical tray.
The ergonomic ring handles provide a comfortable and secure grip throughout extended dissection procedures. The lightweight construction of the instrument reduces hand fatigue during lengthy surgical sessions.
Manufactured from premium grade surgical stainless steel with a satin finish. Fully autoclave compatible for repeated sterilization and long term clinical use.
